Minutes of the meeting of 3/29/10

Meeting Opened at: 4:00pm

Chief Backhaus gave his police report:
  • Assisted Fire Dept on Main Rd.
  • Abandoned 911 call on Mt Hunger Rd: misdialed
  • Located a missing person at the boat launch.
  • False alarm at Eaton Rd (Fire Dept)
  • Vehicle stuck in the mud on New Marlboro Rd.
  • Abandoned 911 call on Brewer Circle: phone line issues
  • Assisted a resident on Sandisfield Rd.
  • Abandoned 911 call on Gould Rd: phone issues
  • Assisted the GBPD with a burglar alarm
Warrant discussion: Barbara Gauthier, Steve Pullen, Stan Ross and Dan Moriarity

Special town meeting warrant:
The decision was made to increase the building inspector's salary $300 to compensate for extra hours inspecting camps instead of setting up revolving fund.

Strike Article 3.

Article 4 amount: $39,035.

Annual town meeting warrant:
The proposed restatement of the SBRSD Regional Agreement, which was delivered today and which the school committee has requested all towns put on their annual warrants as a ballot question, was discussed. This article will be thoroughly vetted at the informational meeting on Friday, April 23rd.

Insert below Article 1 and above Article 2: <And to vote upon the following question:> then insert the school committee article
wording: <To see if the Town will vote to amend the existing Regional Agreement Establishing the Southern Berkshire Regional School District to read in its entirety as set forth in the attached document titled “Restatement of Regional Agreement Establishing the Southern Berkshire Regional School District”.> Strike article related to $2,500 revolving fund.

Add $300 to Building Inspector salary, line 240.

Add the following as Article 6: <To see if the town will vote to authorize and direct the Assessors to take $60,000 or any other sum from Free Cash to reduce the tax levy for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010.> Renumber Article 6 as Article 7. Number subsequent articles 7-19.

Number the article related to the conservation fund's $25,000 revolving fund 22. Number two articles at bottom of page related to treasurer 20 and 21. Continue numbering articles on next page 23-26.

Mickey Jervas reported that parts of a large tree that fell across Swan Road and was subsequently cut was still lying in the ditches.  Also, a very large pine was down behind the Roadside Store.

MIIA Health Benefit Trust renewal contract was moved, seconded, and signed.

Warrants were signed.

Notice was written and delivered to Monterey News regarding informational meeting.

A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 6:25pm
